Dining Out Without Gadgets

Whenever we go out for dinner as a family we don’t use our gadgets. I have noticed earlier on when my twins were just about 3 years old, it was becoming a bad habit because every time we sat down for a meal while waiting for the food to arrive, they would ask for our phones so that they can be entertained. After realizing the unhealthy lifestyle we were fostering, I decided to nip it in the bud and told them there would be no more gadgets whenever we go out for a meal. I told them that we should spend time together as a family, talking and getting to know each other better.

My twins Brayden and Dylan are sitting for PSLE in less than 2 weeks time. As a mom, I constantly tell them to work hard and put in their best efforts. I believe in the value of hard work – to me grades are not what define them. What I care ultimately is the values that they embrace in their lives. What defined them is whether they have been kind, patient, generous, thoughtful and have they been considerate to other people’s feelings.
